Previously, it was reported that former Google Python engineer, CPython core developer, and member of the Python steering committee, Thomas Wuters, claimed that Google has completely cut off the Python foundation team and plans to provide related work to new employees in Munich, Germany.
In fact, in mid April, Google announced a new round of layoffs and stated that it would transfer some of its job positions overseas. This round of layoffs starts on March 10th and is expected to continue until August.

She pointed out that the company plans to maintain an important position in the San Francisco Bay Area. "This strategy will help us become a more efficient organization, enabling us to run 24 hours a day."
With Google's continuous efforts in AI transformation, it has laid off hundreds of employees from multiple teams this year, including its engineering, hardware, and assistant teams. The CEO of the company, Sundar Pichai, told employees earlier this year that more layoffs are expected.
The global wave of layoffs is still spreading
