On April 1st, 3M announced that on March 29th, the settlement agreement reached between the company and the US Public Water Supply Supplier (PWS) received final approval from the Federal District Court of South Carolina.
Last year, 3M signed a resolution that included providing funding for public water suppliers to use for PFAS treatment technology without further litigation, and providing funding for qualified PWS that may detect PFAS in the future. According to the settlement terms, 3M Company has agreed to pay $10.3 billion in compensation within 13 years.
