On September 24th, Yum! China announced that its supply chain management center located in Jiading District, Shanghai, has been officially completed and put into operation.
It is reported that as the largest self built supply chain center of Yum China, the center took two years and three months of careful construction to build a modern facility covering an area of 61000 square meters. The project started construction in June 2022, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as automated logistics, ASRS equipment, and roof distributed photovoltaics. It has gone through foundation construction, steel structure hoisting, main building and refrigeration insulation engineering until its official completion in August 2024, aiming to create an efficient, intelligent, and green flagship supply chain operation center.
Specifically, the newly completed Yum China Supply Chain Management Center integrates room temperature warehousing, low-temperature cold chain, office and supporting facilities. The freezer is equipped with a 12 story ASRS logistics automation area, generating approximately 9000 board spaces on a 2500 square meter area and increasing unit area utilization by over 20%. At the same time, the ASRS library can achieve automatic identification, positioning, storage, and accurate circulation of goods, improving efficiency. At the end of this year, four-way vehicle intensive storage will also be launched to free up employees and enable them to focus on value-added work. In addition, distributed photovoltaics are installed on the top of warehouses, security guards, and carports, with an installed capacity of 1.5 megawatts and an expected annual power generation of over 1.5 million kilowatt hours, ensuring the cooling power supply for cold storage; At the same time, the park adopts a sponge city design, which can not only save water and energy by collecting rainwater for irrigation and greening, but also alleviate the problem of difficult drainage under rainy and flood conditions.
