At 1am Beijing time on September 10th, the 2024 Apple Autumn New Product Launch Conference was held. At the meeting, Apple launched new products such as iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 10, AirPods 4, and a new color series of AirPods Max. Like the previous autumn product launch event, after launching the new generation of products, multiple products previously on sale by Apple have also been removed from the official website.
According to Apple's official website, the newly launched iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch product lines have all been taken down.
In terms of iPhone product line, with the launch of the iPhone 16 series, the previous generation iPhone 15 Pro series and iPhone 13 have been removed from Apple's official website, while iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus continue to be sold. After the launch of the iPhone 15 series last year, the previous generation iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max were also taken down from Apple, and only iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus continued to be sold.
In terms of the Apple Watch product line, Apple has recently launched the Apple Watch Series 10 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 with a black titanium case. The rest has not been updated, so only the previous generation Apple Watch Series 9 has been taken down.
In the AirPods product line, Apple has launched the AirPods 4 and a new color series of AirPods Max. The second-generation and third-generation AirPods that were previously on sale have been removed from Apple's official website, and the first generation AirPods Max has also been removed.
Among the products that have been taken down, the iPhone 15 Pro has received the most attention. The iPhone 15 Pro is a product released by Apple at its autumn product launch event on September 13, 2023. At the time of release, the starting price for iPhone 15 Pro was 7999 yuan (128GB capacity). However, after its official launch, the iPhone 15 series was exposed to multiple problems such as severe overheating, screen burn-in, automatic shutdown at night, and dust on the lens. For this reason, Apple has attempted to solve the heating problem by upgrading the system.
Since its release, the iPhone 15 series has also experienced price reductions and promotions. On Double 11 in 2023, on some e-commerce platforms, after promotional subsidies, the highest price reduction for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be nearly a thousand yuan; From May 20th to May 28th, 2024, on the official flagship store of Tmall Apple Store, after the promotion, the iPhone 15 Pro will be priced from 6099 yuan (original price 7999 yuan).
Now, less than a year after its launch, the iPhone 15 Pro has already been taken down. A netizen exclaimed, "Just three months after receiving the iPhone 15 Pro, it has become an out of print machine.
Regarding the removal of the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple's official customer service responded that currently only the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are available for sale. The iPhone 15 Pro and ProMax have indeed been removed from the official website and retail stores. If you want to purchase these two models of the Pro series, you can only go to a third-party authorized store.
It is worth noting that the iPhone 15 has also experienced a price reduction. Previously, the official price of the basic iPhone 15 (128GB) was 5999 yuan. On September 10th, Apple's official website showed that the price of the iPhone 15 base model had increased to 5399 yuan, a reduction of 600 yuan.
