The medical, scientific, and regulatory communities have extensively evaluated these claims and believe that they are unfounded.
Earlier in April, it was reported that Sanofi would pay over $100 million to settle approximately 4000 lawsuits, accusing the French pharmaceutical company of failing to warn users that its heartburn treatment drug Zantac may cause cancer.
