Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) announced in a statement submitted to regulatory authorities that it will lay off approximately 2.5% of its workforce in December, with layoffs mainly concentrated in California. In a statement submitted to the California Department of Employment and Development on Thursday, Qualcomm announced plans to lay off 1064 employees in San Diego and 194 employees in Santa Clara, California. The layoffs will take place in mid December. Qualcomm last announced a total of 51000 global employees. As early as August this year, Qualcomm warned that revenue growth would depend on the recovery of mobile sales and sales in China.
