On November 20th, court documents showed that the US Department of Justice and multiple states are calling on federal courts to force Google to sell Chrome browser. The document also states that Google should be required to authorize its "click and query" data and search results to potential competitors to help them improve their products.
Judge Amit P. Mehta of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia made a historic ruling in August this year, determining that Google illegally monopolized the online search market.
Earlier this week, in response to the news that the US Department of Justice may push Google to sell Chrome, Google's Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Lee Anne Mulholland, stated in a statement that the US Department of Justice is pushing for a "radical agenda that goes far beyond the legal scope of this case" and would harm consumers, developers, and US technology leadership.
