According to the latest news, Amazon (AMZN) is secretly developing smart glasses specifically designed for its delivery drivers to provide precise navigation within, around, and inside buildings, ensuring that orders can be delivered to customers faster and more accurately.
Amazon hopes to optimize delivery efficiency by providing detailed step-by-step navigation, so that customers can receive orders faster.
It is reported that this smart glasses will be equipped with an embedded small screen and advanced navigation technology to provide drivers with directional navigation services. It can provide real-time steering advice to drivers during delivery, ensuring they can accurately find each delivery location and reducing time waste caused by getting lost or missing turns.
During the delivery process, the glasses will provide real-time instructions to the driver on how to leave the elevator, navigate around obstacles such as doors or fierce dogs, etc., to save valuable delivery time. Considering that millions of packages need to be delivered every day, even a few seconds of savings can bring significant efficiency improvements.
In addition, this pair of glasses will enable drivers to get rid of handheld global positioning system devices, allowing them to focus more on delivery tasks and increase the number of packages being transported. This delivery glasses will be based on Amazon's Echo Frames smart glasses and incorporate new technological elements.
