On November 6th local time, car company Stellantis Group announced in a statement that it will lay off about 1100 employees at its Jeep factory in Toledo, Ohio, to digest excess inventory. The company will change the Toledo South factory, which produces Jeep Gladiator pickup trucks, from a two shift system to a single shift system. Stellantis stated that affected members of the Automobile Workers' Union will receive supplementary compensation, along with state unemployment benefits equivalent to approximately 74% of normal wages, and medical insurance will last for two years.
