A large number of navy accounts have organized and spread the above rumors, and have concocted tens of thousands of rumors in a short period of time. Liu Qiangdong and Zhang Zetian have reported the case to the public security organs, and the police have accepted the case and are currently investigating it.
Earlier today, Lawyer Zhou Junwu from Beijing Jincheng Tongda Law Firm issued a statement, stating that he has accepted the commission of Liu Qiangdong and Zhang Zetian (hereinafter referred to as the "client") to issue a lawyer's statement in response to recent rumors circulating online that Ms. Zhang Zetian has joined the "Bright Society" and is maliciously spreading rumors to smear Liu Qiangdong and Zhang Zetian's family and private life, in order to clarify the facts and eliminate the impact.
The lawyer's statement mentioned that after verification with Ms. Zhang Zetian, the brooch she wore at the Tsinghua University Alumni Art Exhibition was only for the purpose of matching the art exhibition and overall clothing style, and its source, design, etc. have nothing to do with any organization. Moreover, Ms. Zhang Zetian's costume stylist has publicly refuted the rumors about joining the "Illuminati", stating that such statements are fabricated and false information.
In addition, a large number of navy accounts have organized and spread rumors about the family and private life of Liu Qiangdong and Zhang Zetian, maliciously smearing them. In just a short period of time, tens of thousands of related rumors have appeared on the internet, seriously damaging the reputation of Liu Qiangdong and Zhang Zetian. According to the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China and other legal provisions, the fabrication, dissemination, and reprinting of false statements are suspected of constituting infringement of reputation rights, and in serious cases, may also constitute criminal offenses.
The lawyer, on behalf of the client, declares that the aforementioned statements about Ms. Zhang Zetian joining the "Illuminati" and deliberately smearing the family and private life of Mr. Liu Qiangdong and Mr. and Mrs. Zhang Zetian are false information.
