It is reported that AI technology is the core and foundation of Duolingo English testing. DET uses AI technology in various processes such as question generation, testing, and grading to better meet the needs of global candidates and universities. For example, as an online test, DET adopts an "adaptive" examination mode, where the difficulty of the questions will change according to the tester's answering level, and each candidate will encounter different questions.
Not long ago, DET officially introduced a new question type called Interactive Writing, which is also an innovative question type based on AI technology. The system will follow up based on the candidate's answers, and the candidate needs to answer again according to the new questions. This question type is more closely related to the form of dialogue in people's daily communication, and can better test candidates' comprehensive language proficiency.
The person in charge of the Duolingo English Test stated that DET has been recognized by over 5500 universities and programs worldwide, particularly in North American institutions. In the future, Duolingo English testing will continue to optimize its products and improve its services, helping Chinese international students embark on a broader path of learning.
