At the meeting, Tencent App Store announced a partnership with Microsoft Store to jointly launch Tencent App Store mobile content on the Microsoft Store section. At that time, Windows (a Microsoft operating system) users can seamlessly download and install mobile applications on the Windows platform, and enjoy the native experience of mobile applications.
Through this collaboration, Windows users will be able to access the app store, start menu Search for mobile applications through channels such as Windows Search and Bing, call up the Microsoft Store to complete the download and installation, and generate shortcuts on Windows. Users can click on the shortcut icon on their desktop to use it. It is expected that Tencent will support over 1500 mobile applications when the Microsoft Store is launched.
For developers, the App Store PC version provides diversified growth and commercialization opportunities, supporting monetization channels including advertising, in app purchases, and PC (personal computer) malls. It is reported that the newly added scale of some games on the App Store PC version has increased by 100% compared to the single mobile version, and some game PC scene payments account for over 40% of the overall market revenue. The retention of new games the next day is 1.9 times that of the overall market.
Tencent Vice President Lin Songtao believes that, The huge space and insufficient content supply in the PC market form a sharp contrast, The integration of PC and mobile ecosystem has become an inevitable trend. He said, "The PC end has a huge user base, and we hope to work with Microsoft Store and Intel through the App Store PC version to provide technical, traffic, and commercial support for mobile developers in cross end integration, bringing users a better cross end experience."
The 2019-2023IDC Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracking Report in China shows that, with the development of mobile Internet, the number of mobile phone shipments and applications has declined in recent years.
