On May 8th, General Motors announced that Steve Hill, the current Vice President of Global Business Operations, will serve as Senior Vice President of General Motors Global and President of General Motors China. Starting from June 1st this year, Hill will take over the full responsibility of General Motors in China from Bai Li. Rory Harvey, Executive Vice President and Global Marketing President of General Motors, stated that Hill will accelerate the electrification of General Motors' product portfolio in China, fully utilizing the opportunities brought by the application of new technologies.
According to the data, Hill is a global marketing expert at General Motors, having held important positions including Vice President of Sales, Service, and Marketing in the United States and Vice President of Global Customer Service and After Sales.
It is understood that after Hill's handover, Bai Li will officially retire. In 2014, Bai Li was appointed as the Executive Vice President of SAIC General Motors. Starting from 2019, he served as the Senior Vice President of General Motors International Operations, where he simplified operational systems to create a customer-centric enterprise architecture and implemented a global marketing strategy in his regional markets. General Motors stated that since 2020, Bai Li has led the Chinese team to go through industry changes and actively explore new business areas, focusing on new energy, intelligent driving, localized software development and application, and the landing of imported car business.
